Frequently Asked Questions

Are donations to your organization tax deductible (like donations to Christian Advocates Serving Evangelism (CASE) d/b/a/ American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ))?

Unlike with CASE d/b/a ACLJ, donations to ACLJ Action are not tax deductible. This is because we have different tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(4) organization, as opposed to CASE/ACLJ, which has 501(c)(3) status. This different classification is what allows us to support and oppose specific legislation on behalf of our members. Your support is crucial to our mission of supporting constitutional values, liberty, and religious freedom.

What benefits will I receive by becoming a member of ACLJ Action?

Members of ACLJ Action are entitled to the following benefits:

  1. Newsletters;
  2. Periodic updates on important policy and legislative developments;
  3. Periodic updates on key initiatives of the organization;
  4. Information about special events and activities;
  5. Access to organizational studies, white papers, and related materials;
  6. Access upon written request to organizational Bylaws.

How often will I need to renew my membership?

You will be invited to renew your membership annually.

Why am I being asked about my citizenship?

ACLJ Action receives support from people who care about our principles around the world. Knowledge of your citizenship and residency status will help us keep track of our members’ interests, communicate relevant information to you, and comply with laws applicable to the funding of our activities.

Can I join ACLJ Action if I am not a U.S. citizen?

Yes, you can join ACLJ Action if you are not a U.S. citizen. ACLJ Action seeks to protect human rights around the world and we welcome your support. However, we need to know if you are not a U.S. citizen or green card holder to assist our legal compliance.

What is the difference between Signing Up and Becoming a Member?

When you become a Member of ACLJ Action, you are entitled to several benefits and you financially support our mission each year by paying dues of at least $25 per year and affirming your acceptance of membership. When you sign up, you will receive periodic updates and emails containing information about our activities, but you will not become a formal Member of ACLJ Action.
