Mission Statement
ACLJ Action is a 501(c)(4) advocacy organization dedicated to liberty, constitutional government, and religious freedom. Our sister organization, the American Center for Law and Justice, has a 30-plus year history of fighting on behalf of its supporters in courtrooms across America. But our values are under threat now more than ever before as the radical left hijacks the media and government and drives our elected officials to support deeply un-American causes like socialism and communism; abortion on-demand; out of control spending; open borders; censorship; and deference to foreign powers intent on the destruction of the American way of life. In response to this challenge, ACLJ Action will push beyond the courtroom, throughout the halls of Congress, and into every state capital. We seek to shape the law before it is made and change the law when it needs changing, delivering positive results for our membership and for every American.
Jordan Sekulow
Jordan Sekulow is the President and CEO of ACLJ Action. In addition, he is Executive Director of the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a practicing attorney, and cohost of Sekulow, a syndicated radio program providing cutting analysis of today's political and legal landscape with elected officials and conservative leaders.
In a role separate from the ACLJ, Mr. Sekulow served on President Trump's legal team for the Mueller investigation and first impeachment trial. Mr. Sekulow also has extensive background as a conservative political organizer, including serving on multiple presidential campaigns.
Mr. Sekulow is regularly a guest commentator on Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, Newsmax, and OAN, as well as in print in the Washington Times, Daily Caller, and National Review Online.
Jordan is a graduate of Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, VA, where he served as co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Regent Journal of Law and Public Policy. He is also a graduate of George Washington University and earned his Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in International Human Rights from the Georgetown University Law Center. He was named a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University’s Harris Manchester College’s Summer Research Institute in 2014 and as a Visiting Research Scholar at the College’s 2015 Summer Research Institute.
James Rockas
James Rockas is Executive Director of ACLJ Action. He is also Director of Strategy and Global Government Affairs at the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) where he advises on global affairs, national security, and trade policy.
During the Trump Administration, Mr. Rockas served in the U.S. Department of State and in the U.S. Department of Commerce as Secretary Wilbur Ross’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Deputy Director of Policy & Strategic Planning, and lead spokesman for the Department. Before his work in the Executive Branch, James was a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives and worked on presidential and congressional campaigns.
Mr. Rockas is a long-time advocate against the persecution of Orthodox Christians in the Republic of Turkey and a member of the Order of Saint Andrew, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Mr. Rockas holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Cornell University and clerked at the ACLJ for two summers while in school.
Tom Gilman
Thomas F. Gilman was nominated by President Donald J. Trump to be the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary for Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in January 2019.
In that capacity, Mr. Gilman held a dual role overseeing all financial and management functions for the multi-billion-dollar budget as well as the administrative and personnel functions for its approximately 47,000 employees. Prior to joining the government, Mr. Gilman had a 40+ year career as a senior executive and entrepreneur within the global automotive industry.
Mr. Gilman has unique experience having worked in automotive manufacturing, automotive retailing, automotive financial services and automotive supply. Mr. Gilman spent 22 years at Chrysler Corporation and 5 years at Chrysler Financial where he served as CFO. During that time, Chrysler Financial achieved four years of double-digit growth and 16 consecutive quarters of record profits. In 1998, Mr. Gilman helped lead the DaimlerBenz/Chrysler Corporation merger. Following the merger, Mr. Gilman joined the Asbury Automotive Group in 2001, where he oversaw their Initial Public Offering on the NYSE in 2002. In 2006, Mr. Gilman joined Cerberus Capital Management as a Senior Advisor, where he oversaw multiple deals and operations in the automotive finance industry, including the acquisitions of GMAC, Chrysler Financial and Chrysler. Upon completion of the Chrysler acquisition, Mr. Gilman returned to Chrysler Financial and became the Chairman and CEO. Mr. Gilman successfully navigated Chrysler Financial through the TARP government program, ultimately repaying its 1.5-billion-dollar obligation to the Treasury Department with interest and within six months.
In 2011, Mr. Gilman helped manage the sale of Chrysler Financial to TD Bank Group. Mr. Gilman created a North American auto lending platform, TD Auto Finance, and became its President and CEO and an Executive Vice President of TD Bank Group in Toronto, Canada. In 2014, Mr. Gilman founded Automotive Capital Services, which financed automotive dealership inventories. ACS was sold in January 2018. Mr. Gilman speaks four languages, has lived in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and has conducted business in 21 countries. He holds a B.S. Degree in Finance from Villanova University.
